Sources and licences
Every field on this site, where it came from, and under what terms.
Emissions
EU MRV / THETIS-MRV, published by the European Commission and the European Maritime Safety Agency. Verified annual returns for fuel consumption and CO₂, one dataset per reporting period, retrieved directly from the publication endpoint. Reused under the Commission's legal notice permitting reuse with acknowledgement.
Vessel particulars and photographs
Wikidata for tonnage, build year, flag, builder, dimensions and image links. Wikidata statements are released under CC0.
Wikimedia Commons for the photographs themselves. Each file carries its own licence, which is read from the file metadata and displayed with the image. Files whose licence terms cannot be satisfied by a caption are not shown.
Sanctions
OFAC Specially Designated Nationals list, published by the United States Department of the Treasury and in the public domain. Vessels are matched on IMO number only. A listing is reproduced as published on the build date; the issuing authority's current register is the authoritative source.
Inspections
USCG PSIX, the United States Coast Guard Port State Information Exchange. Covers inspections in United States waters only, which is why most vessels here show no inspection history.
Ports and geography
World Port Index (US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, public domain), UN/LOCODE (UNECE) and OpenStreetMap (ODbL) for port locations and boundaries.
Reusing this site
The underlying figures belong to the sources above and carry their terms. Our contribution is the compilation, the cross-referencing and the presentation. If you cite a figure, cite the source register rather than us; if you rely on a listing for a compliance decision, verify it against the issuing authority directly.
